NTT Docomo creates R&D, Innovation business units

Japanese mobile operator NTT Docomo will establish two new business units, the Innovation Management Department and the 5G Laboratory. The units will start operations on 1 October. The Innovation Management Department, a unit under the R&D Innovation Division, will focus on driving R&D activities and innovation targeted at smarter-living initiatives. It will develop new business and manage both strategic investments and business tie-ups focused on technology innovation.
