Nuance sues Zi over Tegic case

Mobile software developer Zi announced that it received notice from Nuance Communications of a motion filed against Zi in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The motion accuses Zi of violating a 2002 consent judgment which settled a patent litigation with Tegic Communications, involving Zi's eZiText software. Tegic was recently acquired by Nuance. In a statement, Zi accused Nuance of filing the suit as part of its attempt to acquire Zi. The company recently rejected a takeover bid from Nuance and refused to start negotiations.
