NXP launches smart card interface for pay-TV apps

NXP Semiconductors announced the launch of a new contact smart card interface marketed as TDA8037. Fully optimised for pay-TV applications, the TDA8037 offers card protection, including short circuit detection and ESD protection. As it can operate in a 3V supply domain, the product can be used for products where power efficiency and performance reliability are paramount. The TDA8037 achieved certification and validation through close collaboration with Cisco.
