NXP releases MCU-based platforms for face recognition and far-field voice control, command recognition

NXP Semiconductors unveiled what it calls the world's first micro-controller (MCU)-based platform for adding offline face and expression recognition functionalities to smart home, commercial and industrial devices. The company also launched its MCU-based platform for far-field voice control and command recognition. NXP said it's now engaging with OEMs to provide early access to the evaluation and development kit for these platforms. Broad market availability is expected to begin in Q1 2020.
