O2 4G network covers one third of UK population indoors

Telefonica UK has confirmed that the O2 4G network now covers one third of the UK population indoors, reaching 191 towns and cities. The O2 4G network reaches 41 percent of the population outdoors. The network, launched in August 2013, has more than one million 4G customers, who used more data in the first six months than the entire O2 network carried between 2000 and 2008. O2 also confirmed its network modernisation programme, aiming to upgrade around 25 percent of all 2G and 3G masts by end-2014 to deliver enhanced call quality and an improved network experience.
