O2 Czech Republic to provide public pay phones for 3 years

Monday 8 December 2014 | 09:42 CET | News
The council of Czech regulator CTU has decided to impose an obligation on O2 Czech Republic to provide public pay phones under its universal service obligation for the next three years. The decision includes a list of the particular pay phones included in the universal service. They are placed, as has been the case so far, in all municipalities with up to 2,000 inhabitants, and in municipalities with up to 5,000 inhabitants if the location is not covered by a sufficiently strong GSM signal from at least two mobile operators. In 2015, this will apply to 5,429 locations.
