O2 UK adds 240,000 customers in Q2

O2 UK recorded its strongest quarterly net additions in six quarters in Q2, adding 240,000 new customers for a total 25.173 million. Postpaid customers grew by 134,000 in the quarter and 10 percent year-on-year to 15.427 million, as churn dropped to 0.8 percent. Prepay also returned to growth, adding 106,000 users for a total 9.746 million. O2 said smartphone penetration was up 13 percent points year-on-year to 62 percent, and it also showed a 64 percent annual increase in LTE users, to 9.5 million.
