O3b, Kymeta partner to develop flat panel satellite antennas

Global satellite provider, O3b Networks and Kymeta have entered an agreement to develop flat panel satellite antennas for the O3b network. Kymeta developed the flat, thin, light and low cost antennas and terminals in combination with O3b Networks' low latency internet services, expected to open up a range of new markets. The two companies will jointly develop the satellite tracking antennas and terminals to be optimised for the satellite services O3b will be offering. The agreement will produce a prototype by year-end 2014, at which point the companies will announce the range of antenna and
