Obama proposes USD 19 bln boost to cybersecurity

US President Barack Obama has directed his administration to implement a Cybersecurity National Action Plan (CNAP) that takes near-term actions and puts in place a long-term strategy to enhance cybersecurity awareness and protections, protect privacy, maintain public safety as well as economic and national security, and empower Americans to take better control of their digital security. The Administration will invest over USD 19 billion in cybersecurity as part of the President's USD 4.1 trillion budget for FY 2017, representing an over 35 percent increase from FY 2016.
