OBB doubles Mobile Ticket sales in one year

Austrian national railway OBB has increased its sale of Mobile Tickets by 112 percent in the past year. According to statistics released by the train company, 1.5 million tickets were sold via mobile phone in 2016, more than double the number in 2015. The OBB App was downloaded 571,000 times, with sales on the app accounting for a quarter of OBB's digital revenue. Overall, the rate of mobile and digital ticket sales combined climbed by 50 percent in 2016 compared with the year prior.
