OECD finds public sector savings support FTTH roll-out

The OECD has released a report on the relationship between network investments and innovation and demand for bandwidth. The report, named 'Network developments in support of innovation and user needs', was published in June and released in December. The report authors support the roll-out of FTTH and claim that the positive impact on four public sectors are enough to justify the roll-out. The analysis does not include other broadband technologies (ADSL2+, VDSL, Docsis 3.0). The study looks at potential benefits for the sectors electricity (smart grids to better manage use), healthcare
