Ofcom chief will not be intimidated by BT

Ofcom's new head Sharon White has warned BT that she will not be intimidated by threats of a 10-year legal dispute over the future of network unit Openreach, reports The Independent. Speaking to the Commons Culture, Media and Sport Committee, White said that Ofcom would focus on getting the best possible deal for consumers. Her comments came after BT CEO Gavin Patterson warned that a forced separation of Openreach could result in '10 years of litigation and arguments'. White also said that Ofcom lacked the resources needed to govern the BBC if the BBC Trust is abolished and that she would
