Ofcom proposes new dark fibre prices

Tuesday 11 April 2017 | 14:02 CET | News
Ofcom has started a public consultation on the required amendments to its decision on regulation of the business connectivity. Following an appeal from TalkTalk against the April 2016 decision, the Competition and Markets Authority ordered Ofcom to amend its methodology used for calculating the price for dark fibre access on BT's network. The Authority found that Ofcom was wrong to use a measure of BT's non-domestic rates costs as part of the calculation for the price of dark fibre products. The consultation, open for comment until 22 May, proposes an alternative approach.
