Ofcom publishes data privacy report for IoT strategy

UK regulator Ofcom has published an independent report from WIK-Consult on personal data and privacy. The report was commissioned to examine the effectiveness of different approaches to informing consumers about proposed uses of their data, and securing their engagement and consent. The aim of publishing this report is to make a contribution to wider debate about the Internet of Things (IoT) and consumer data privacy. The report looks at the role of informed consent in privacy law; the role of informed consent in practice; and potential ways to improve informed consent in practice. It also
