Off-premises cloud services market hits USD 57 bln in H1

Global revenue for off-premises cloud services such as software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), cloud as a service (CaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS) reached USD 57 billion in the first half of 2016 and is set to grow at a CAGR of 25 percent over 2015-20 period to reach USD 286 billion by 2020. A survey conducted by IHS Markit revealed that SaaS is currently the number-one off-premises cloud service, representing 44 percent of revenue in H1 2016, but CaaS and PaaS have the highest CAGRs through 2020.
