OHB Italia, Arianespace to launch Prisma Italian satellite

Arianespace has announced an agreement with satellite manufacturer OHB Italia to launch an earth observation satellite for the Italian Space Agency (ASI). Under the terms of the deal, the launch of the Prisma satellite will be carried out by a Vega rocket from the Guiana Space Centre in mid-2018. Prisma is described as an Earth observation satellite fitted with an innovative electro-optical instrument, combining a hyperspectral sensor with a medium-resolution panchromatic camera. It will be used for environmental monitoring, resources management, agriculture and the fight against pollution,
