Oi adopts Meo platform for IPTV launch

Brazilian operator Oi, in which Portugal Telecom holds a 23.26 percent stake, will use Portuguese operator's Meo platform to expand its subscription TV services in Brazil. Portugal Telecom uses Microsoft's Mediaroom platform for the Meo service. The statement was made during Oi's Investor Day, where it announced plans to launch an IPTV platform in the second half of this year, possibly in September. Oi wants to expand the offer gradually over fibre networks.
