Oi approves sales of PT Portugal to Altice - report

The board of Brazilian operator Oi has approved the sale of the Portuguese operations to Altice, reports O Estado de Sao Paulo. According to the paper, the proposal was approved unanimously. However, the EUR 7.4 billion deal will still depend on whether Portugal Telecom SGPS shareholders will support it, at a meeting set for 20 December. With the sale of the Portuguese assets, Oi will boost its financial position in view of the consolidation of the telecommunications sector in Brazil
