Oi compensation boosts H1 profit for Pharol

Pharol (former Portugal Telecom) recorded a profit of EUR 24.8 million in the first half of 2019, compared with a loss of EUR 2.8 million a year ago. The Portuguese company said the improved result was due to the compensation for damages paid by Oi of EUR 36.8 million; the EUR 10.1 million impairment resulting from the reduction of the value of Rio Forte; and  EUR 2 million in operating costs.
