Oi director denies company is up for sale

Monday 10 October 2016 | 11:27 CET | News
Former Brazilian minister Helio Costa, a member of the Board of Directors of Oi, has denied the telecommunications operator, currently in bankruptcy protection, is up for sale. In an interview for daily O Estado de Sao Paulo, he said the company is currently focused on the bankruptcy process and that after this phase, there are funds prepared to invest, without naming the potential investors. According to him, there is interest from Brazilian, American and Canadian funds. Costa is optimistic about the bankruptcy protection and said Oi may be in place to lead a consolidation of the sector.
