Oi ends arbitration over Africatel, swaps MTC stake

Brazilian operator Oi announced a settlement with the other shareholders of Africatel, the holding company for its African operations, putting an end to their disputes. Oi's wholly-owned subsidiaries PT Participacoes and Africatel KG have entered into a series of agreements with Samba (Helios), an affiliate of Helios Investors and owner of the remaining 25 percent of Africatel BV, with the primary purpose of settling the arbitral proceedings started against Africatel KG in November 2014. As a result, Samba will release Oi's subsidiaries from all past and present claims relating to alleged
