Oi gets new board member to help company turnaround

Roger Sole Rafols will become a new board members at Brazilian operator Oi, though his appointment is still subject to approval by Brazilian communications sector regulator Anatel. Rafols currently works at Sprint, but was previously at TIM Brasil. He will replace Marco Duarte Santos, set to leave the company on 26 September. Board chairman Eleazar de Carvalho Filho said the arrival of Rafols has contributed to strengthening the board's role in defining Oi's guidelines and supporting the execution of its turnaround, which is underway.
