Oi surpasses 500,000 customers for IPTV service

Nearly one year after its relaunch, the IPTV service of Brazilian operator Oi surpassed 500,000 subscribers in August. Available nationwide, with the exception of the State of Sao Paulo, Oi TV aims to boost the popularity of pay-TV and HDTV services in Brazil. The repositioning strategy was completed last month, with the availability of 11 HD channels in its entry-level package, Oi TV More HD, which also includes another 56 pay-TV channels. Since the beginning of 2012, Oi TV added the Globo, Comedy Central, Canal Combate, Fox Sports and Globosat channels.
