Oi to cut 2,000 jobs - report

Brazilian operator Oi has announced plans to cut around 2,000 employees, equal to about 15 percent of its workforce. The plans were announced to employee representatives, and unions confirmed the news to Teletime. Along with cuts in the past year, the total job cuts will reach around 3,000, affecting all areas of the company. A source close to the operator told Teletime that about 200 managerial positions have already been cut, most of which in ​​procurement and administrative functions. It's also letting go the last executives from Portugal Telecom at the company. Oi declined official
