Oi to launch IPTV service by end-2012

During Oi Investor Day on 17 April, the president of the Brazilian telecommunications operator, Francisco Valim, announced that one of the major bets for 2012 will be an IPTV service. The operator will introduce a series of new functions in order to better compete with its rivals. From day one, the product will be available on four screens: conventional TV, tablets, smartphones and PCs. It will initially be restricted to the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte.
