The board of directors of Brazilian operator Oi approved the acquisition of preferred shares issued by the company. The repurchase aims to assure the fulfillment of the commitment of transferring treasury shares to Bratel (Pharol subsidiary), according to the agreement signed by the companies at the beginning of January. A total of 1.8 million preferred shares will be acquired, representing around 1.14 percent of the total preferred shares and 0.03 percent of the total Oi shares on the market.
