Oi's losses widen to BRL 5.75 bln in Q3

Oi said its losses widened in the third quarter to BRL 5.75 billion from 1.33 billion the year before. Net revenues grew 8.7 percent to BRL 5 billion. However, revenue fell 8.8 percent to BRL 4.95 billion for the company's Brazilian operations, while BRL 46 million was contributed by the international markets (Africa and East Timor). Recurrent EBITDA fell 32.9 percent to BRL 979 million, with the EBITDA margin off 7 percent, to 19.6 percent. 

Capex for July-September amounted to BRL 2.06 billion, due to the expansion of the fibre network. Oi also reported a 12.8 percent drop in fixed line customers.
