OiV launches test HD broadcasts in DVB-T2 HEVC standard

Friday 10 May 2019 | 15:16 CET | News
Croatian network operator OiV has started testing DVB-T2 HEVC broadcasts from two transmitters after receiving a licence from the Croatian Regulatory Agency for Network Activities (Hakom) and the Agency for Electronic Media (AEM). Croatia is set to switch free-to-air broadcasting from the DVB-T to the newer DVB-T2 standard, while at the same time introducing the H.265/HEVC video coding system that will enable HD transmissions. OiV is planning to distribute up to 4 HDTV channels.
