Oman Fibre Optic restarts production after fire

Oman Fibre Optic Company (OFO) has re-launched its operations after a fire halted its production line in late 2012. According to Daily Observer, the firm started operations two weeks ago. CEO Mohammed Harith al Brashdy said it has launched an aggressive mode of expansion and is in talks with West Africa as well as Europe. The refurbished plant could produce around 14,000 to 18,000 kilometres of optical fibre per year. OFO manufactures cables for long haul backbone communication links, LANs, video transmission and cable TV, traffic signaling, FTTH, security systems, defence and specialty
