Omani mobile phone subscriptions fall 3% in February, postpaid subscriptions up 34%

Omani mobile phone subscriptions decreased by 3 percent to 6.18 million in February from 6.37 million in the same month of 2020, according to Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information. The postpaid mobile phone subscriber base surged by 34 percent to 1.07 million from 797,517 subscribers in February 2020 This sharp growth in postpaid subscribers, despite a big decline in the expatriate population, could mean a large migration from prepaid to postpaid plans.
