Omnitel launches LTE in 5 cities

Lithuanian mobile operator Omnitel, a subsidiary of TeliaSonera, has launched its LTE network in five major cities across the country. The service using the 1800MHz band is available in the downtown areas of Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai and Panevezys. Omintel plans the second stage of roll-out in October, when 80 percent of the residents of Vilnius should get access to the network. A subscription to LTE service for use with a USB modem costs either LTL 69 per month for speeds up to 30Mbps and 5GB of data, or LTL 99 for up to 80Mbps and 10GB. The ZTE MF820 modem is available for LTL 1
