Omo becomes ATU secretary-general, Union keeps meeting in Kenya for now

Kenyan John Omo has been elected as the new secretary general of the African Telecommunications Union (ATU). Omo garnered 23 votes, beating his sole challenger, Burundi's Constaque Hakizimana, who managed two votes. The elections were held on 17 August during the fifth Ordinary Session of the ATU Plenipotentiary conference in Kenya.
