One in four Italian startups based in Lombardy

The number of registered startups in Italy rose to 10,610 in the third quarter of 2019 after surpassing the 10,000 milestone earlier in the year, according to the latest report from the country's ministry for economic development (Mise). Startups now represent 2.9 percent of all newly-established companies and employ some 60,000 workers, some 48,000 of which have stakes in the company's share capital.
