One in two Germans pays for apps - Bitkom survey

One in two (47%) German smartphone users is willing to pay for apps, according to a recent Bitkom survey. Over a third (35%) have paid for the app itself, while 14 percent paid for fee-based services within the app. Twelve percent paid to use an app advert-free. The app market broke the EUR 1 billion mark for the first time last year; about three quarters of the total revenue was generated through in-app purchases.
