Only 14% of Spaniards using mobile payments - Visa

Monday 5 June 2017 | 14:41 CET | News
The mobile payment market remains very much in its infancy in Spain, with just 9 percent of bank account holders aged 25 to 55 describing themselves as occasional users and barely 5 percent as habitual users, according to a survey conducted by Visa. Although 56 percent of respondents expressed the belief that mobile payments will continue to grow and 43 percent said they planned to try using their smartphone to pay in stores at some point, adoption in Spain remains very low compared to the European average of 54 percent.
