Only 15% of households ready for DVB-T2 in Germany

As Germany prepares to switch to the DVB-T2 standard on 29 March, just 15 percent of potentially affected households have purchased a DVB-T2 set-top box or compatible TV, according to digital media association German TV-Platform. The association reported that around 10 percent of all households in Germany, around 3.4 million, did not have compatible technology at the start of 2017 and would be affected by the changeover from DVB-T to DVB-T2 in eight weeks' time. By the end of January 2017, around 400,000 DVB-T2 TVs had been sold in Germany, according to figures from GfK Retail and Technology
