Ooredoo Group 9-mths profit falls 30% on Indonesia weakness, Myanmar charge

Tuesday 30 October 2018 | 08:38 CET | News
Ooredoo Group's revenue decreased by 7 percent to QAR 22.8 billion in the first nine months of 2018 compared to QAR 24.48 billion in the same period in 2017, as strong contributions from Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq and Myanmar were offset by lower sales in Indonesia and Algeria. The group said the results were negatively impacted by the overall foreign exchange weakness in emerging markets as well as the market situation in Indonesia following the new Sim card registration regulation. Group revenue before the forex impact decreased by 5 percent.
