Ooredoo Oman, Ericsson trial microwave backhauling tech

Ooredoo Oman, backed by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), is set to start a trial of new telecommunications technology to anticipate a surge in demand for data for video streaming, online gaming, social media and other services. Ooredoo will collaborate with Ericsson on this project, sharing expertise. The trial is the first of its kind in the region and will test microwave services in the E-Band (80 GHz) technology, or microwave backhauling.
