Open Fiber activates gigabit FTTH in Salerno digital divide locality

Italian wholesale operator Open Fiber has launched the first commercial offer using its FTTH network in the town of Santa Marina in the Salerno province, one of the country's so-called 'white' digital divide areas. The 1 Gbps service is now available in 2,466 homes as well as 18 public buildings after Open Fiber rolled out around 26km of new cables, 80 percent of which used existing infrastructure.
