Open Fiber connects 12,600 Italian schools to FTTH network

Italian wholesale operator Open Fiber said over 12,600 schools throughout the country are now connected to its FTTH network, up from 10,500 in May. The rollout is part of the 'Piano Scuole' tender to bring gigabit connections to all schools launched by the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) and state-owned infrastructure agency Infratel a year ago, with TIM, Fastweb and Intred also involved.
