Open Fiber connects first 3,000-plus homes in EUR 7 mln Tivoli FTTH rollout

Open Fiber has completed the cabling of its FTTH infrastructure in the first 3,800 premises in the town of Tivoli in the central Lazio region. The wholesale-only operator, which aims to roll out 65 kilometres of cables to connect a total of 20,000 homes in the locality via an investment of EUR 7 million, said the network will enable local residents to access the internet at download speeds of up to 1 Gbps. Under the terms of its deal with the local council, the operator will also connect a total of 30 public buildings free of charge.
