Open Fiber connects first 6,000 homes in Caserta to gigabit network

Open Fiber has completed the cabling of its FTTH infrastructure in the first 6,000 premises in city of Caserta in the southern Campania region. The wholesale-only operator, which aims to roll out 405 kilometres of cables to connect around 35,000 premises throughout the municipal area in a total investment of around EUR 8 million, said the network will enable local residents to access the internet at download speeds of up to 1 Gbps.
