Open Fiber connects first homes in EUR 6 mln Paderno Dugnano rollout

Italian wholesale operator Open Fiber has completed the cabling of its FTTH infrastructure in the first 5,200 premises in the town of Paderno Dugnano near Milan. The wholesale-only operator, which aims to roll out 50 kilometres of cables to connect 16,000 homes in the locality via an investment of EUR 6 million, said the network will enable local residents to access the internet at download speeds of up to 1 Gbps. In the Milan metropolitan area as a whole, the company is investing over EUR 90 million to bring FTTH to over 300,000 premises in 25 localities.
