Open Fiber launches gigabit FTTH service in Monopoli

Italian wholesale operator Open Fiber has activated its FTTH infrastructure in the first 6,000 premises in the town of Monopoli in the southern Apuglia region. The wholesale-only operator, which aims to roll out 260 kilometres of cables in the locality via a total investment of EUR 5.2 million, said the network will eventually connect 18,000 premises at download speeds of up to 1 Gbps via a number of operator partners.
