Open Fiber proceeds with EUR 3.5 mln Carbonia FTTH rollout

Open Fiber said it has installed its FTTH infrastructure in the first 2,000 residential units in the southern Sardinian town of Carbonia. The wholesale-only operator, which aims to connect a total of 10,000 homes in the locality via an investment of EUR 3.5 million, said it has already rolled out 10 kilometres of cables with another 110 to follow, allowing residents to access the internet at download speeds of up to 1 Gbps.
