OpenTV wins German patent litigation against Apple

Thursday 17 March 2016 | 10:50 CET | News
A court in Dusseldorf, Germany, has ruled against Apple in a patent infringement case filed by Kudelski subsidiary OpenTV, reports Reuters. OpenTV sued Apple in 2014, claiming that various Apple products infringed its patents, including the iPad and iPhone. The German court ruled that Apple products sold in Germany cannot use video streaming software which infringes patents held by OpenTV, which also has pending patent litigation against Apple in the US. It is not clear if Apple will appeal the ruling.
