Opera Group launches OKash loans app in Kenya

OPay, the fintech part of the Opera Group, has announced the launch of OKash, a stand-alone mobile app that provides  short-term loans, in Kenya. Interest rates on the small loans start from 1 percent per day for a maximum of fourteen days. Edward Ndichu, FinTech manager for Opera in Kenya, said users with timely and consistent repayment behaviour can apply for a single loan of up to KES 500,000 at an interest rate of 5 percent.
