Oppo partners with Thales for 5G SA compatible eSim

Thursday 24 June 2021 | 09:13 CET | News
Oppo announced what it says is the world's first 5G SA-compatible eSim, on its newly launched flagship 5G smartphone, the Oppo Find X3 Pro, developed in collaboration with eSIM connectivity management company Thales. Unlike traditional SIM cards which need to be physically inserted into devices, an eSim or embedded Sim, is directly built into the device. In addition to smartphones and wearables such as smartwatches, eSims are also getting increasingly adopted for connected vehicles and the  Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT).
