Optimum revenues up 1% in Q2, adds 19,000 new customers

Optimum, the cable operator previously known as Cablevision before its takeover by Altice, reported revenue of USD 1.618 billion for the second quarter, up 1.1 percent from a year earlier. Excluding the one-off impact of a pay-per-view event a year ago, Altice said revenues rose 2.0 percent, better than 0.8 percent achieved in 2015. The company said it had the best quarter since 2012 operationally, with the addition of 19,000 new customers and the loss of just 2,000 video subscribers. In total it counted 3.148 million customers at the end of June, up 1.0 percent from a year earlier, and ARPU
