Optus, ANU to develop national defence system against bushfires

Australian operator Optus and The Australian National University (ANU) have joined forces to develop a national system that aims to detect bushfires early and put them out within minutes. The ANU-Optus Bushfire Research Centre of Excellence will research and develop services designed to predict, identify and extinguish blazes before they become deadly.
